It all started when I got my dog, Murphy.

For the last 15 years, I’ve been a full on cat lady; I have three amazing cats that have gone through all the wild unexpected moves, breakups, cross-country adventures to get to this very point in time. The longest ongoing therapy session ever.
3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months
The 3-3-3 rule of thumb is something you hear about when bringing an animal home. 3 days to wind their nervous system down, 3 weeks for them (and you) to get a semblance of a routine, and 3 months to feel settled in their new home. By day 2, I was in tears wondering if I had made a terrible mistake as Murphy wailed in his crate in the background. If this is you or you’re mid crash-out, I understand and have been in your exact shoes.
It gets better.
